Who are NEET?
Who we are /About us
NEETPeople CIC is a commissioned service providing meaningful daytime opportunities for neurodiverse people with learning disabilities.
NEET has social aims and a not-for-profit ethos, with all income used to support and further develop opportunities for people with learning disabilities.
Nestled within the beautiful surroundings of Northcliffe Woods, alongside wild allotments and beneath trees that change with the seasons, NEET is a place where neurodiverse people can connect with nature, creativity and community.
Every day, we support people through meaningful, hands-on activities including woodwork, cooking, horticulture and creative arts. These opportunities help individuals build confidence, develop new skills and form lasting friendships in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Everyone who works at NEET is part of the team - and that’s why we refer to every individual as a Team Member.
NEET is based at Northcliffe Nurseries and was founded and built by neurodiverse people with learning disabilities.
The Nurseries was originally established in 1992 on a previously neglected allotment site within Northcliffe Park, Shipley, and has continued to grow and develop ever since.
Today, more than 80 Team Members are involved with NEET. Some work for one day each week, while others spend the whole week with us.
We recognise and celebrate the unique strengths, talents and contributions of every individual, ensuring that everyone has a valued role to play within our community.
